Once I heard what the assignment was, I immediately knew that I wanted to make it a collaboration. So I began looking for local fashion designers that would lend me clothes so that I could take the pictures for them. And I found the perfect match: Jade Helene Designs. I fell in love with the clothes that she creates and her overall “Berlin nightlife” aesthetic. Luckily, when I visited her at Level Eight, she agreed to me lending some clothes right away.
After that, I developed a design concept that would represent the brand Jade Helene Designs well. Also, I wanted to find a way to show the beautiful details of the clothes. After going back and forth on some ideas, I decided to do a series that would show a very clean look with a light background next to the same look out and about at night in Berlin. For me, it was all about creating contrasts. Elegant and polished against the rough city background, seductive against pure, clean against busy.
